Frequently asked questions

01 Do I have to make a reservation?
You can come to us at any time without a reservation. At weekends and in the run-up to Christmas there may be a short wait. For groups of 4 or more, we recommend that you make a reservation.

02 How long does the painting take?
That depends entirely on the choice of your ceramic piece and the motif. Some painters complete their work of art in 30 minutes, others need 2-3 hours.

03 What do I need to bring?
Apart from a good mood? Nothing. We have everything you need to paint ready for you.

04 From what age can children paint ceramics?
No painter is too young for us. And especially the little ones have a lot of fun painting. Our youngest customers are just a few days old and already leave their first footprints on plates and cups.
By the way, the colours are non-toxic and can be washed off hands and clothes without any problems.

05 I can't paint at all, what now?
Believe us - everyone can paint - and often the simplest patterns are the most beautiful.
You are welcome to sketch your design on the ceramic with a pencil. In addition, we have a lot of tools, such as templates, stamps, stencils, tracing paper,... are ready for you.

06 Can I take my painted piece home with me?
After you have painted your piece, we will glaze and fire it for you. You can collect the finished ceramic piece after 1-3 days.

07 Is the ceramic dishwasher and microwave safe?
The ceramic is dishwasher safe, but we do not recommend using the microwave.

08 Hairline cracks in the glaze
As we only use lead-free glaze, so-called hairline cracks may appear in the glaze over time. These hairline cracks are not a defect, but a typical characteristic of ceramics. It should be mentioned that many an artist finds these small hairline cracks beautiful, as they give the piece a special charm.

09 What happens if I get paint on my clothes?
The colours are water-soluble and can be washed out without any problems. However, we do have aprons available for you.

10 When do I pay?
First paint, then pay is our motto. Of course you can also pay with your EC card and PIN.

11 Can I have my self-made pottery pieces fired?
You are welcome to bring your self-made pottery pieces to us for bisque firing/first firing. You can find the prices for this under the Firing Service section of the participating Paint your Style shops.
